Winner - Bell's/Wildfly fishing competition
Engeleni Lodge
Good Day All, firstly I would like to extend my gratitude to Bells for the unexpected privilege to experience such a lovely breakaway at Engeleni Lodge in the Drakensberg. Furthermore I would also like to say a thank you to Joanne Morrison from Wildfly Travel for her kind assistance in facilitating all the booking arrangements for my stay at the Lodge, and finally but not least, to Sue and Graham our host and hostess at their lovely establishment. Unfortunately I was unable to get a group of six people together at such short notice as I only returned from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe on the 27th February upon when I only received the exciting news, however I did take full advantage of the opportunity and Joanne kindly arranged that my girl friend (Hilda) and I stay in the honeymoon suite (Mayfly Cottage) which was ideal. Upon our arrival we were friendly welcomed whereupon I immediately rigged up my fly rod, trotted to the nearby dam (basically on our doorstep) and within the hour was in to my first catch for the week. Later the evening we were invited by Graham and Sue to join them at the main complex for a sundowners drink and met two of their overseas visitors. In a nutshell, this is a must visit destination for any flyfisherman or those who just wish for a relaxing peaceful breakaway. The gardens are beautiful, the scenery picturesque and one is in the middle of the Midlands Meander. I also did the Sani Pass trail again and this is a must for one with a 4x4 if you are in the area. Once again, my gratitude to all concerned. Many Thanks & Kind Regards, Gary Andrade |
